CMF also stood for Central Mediterranean Force. This was from the United Kingdom...I know in World War I, but I am not sure about WWII...still nothing on the CMF Pack....

Subject: [303rd-Talk] C.M.F. Packs
I just got this note....... I am baffled. Any ideas?
------------------------------
I was visiting my wife's grandfather yesterday and we went through his footlocker.
He was a captain of a B-17 in WW II and spent most of his time during the war in Italy.
There was an unopened "C.M.F PACKS" in his footlocker and he could not recall what it was.
It is a sealed cloth pack that is about 4 inches by 6 inches, olive in color with the lettering C.M.F PACKS on the front of it. It is only about ½ inch thick and it is unopened.
Do you have any idea what it could be? I do not want to open it if I can avoid it.
Thank you,
