C.M.F. stands for Citizens Military Forcel...similar to the "Reserve" or National Guard.  These were forces from the late 30s and early 40s from Australia...I don't know what might be in the pack, but I will continue to research it.

Subject: [303rd-Talk] C.M.F. Packs

I just got this note....... I am baffled. Any ideas?

------------------------------
I was visiting my wife's grandfather yesterday and we went through his footlocker.
He was a captain of a B-17 in WW II and spent most of his time during the war in Italy.
There was an unopened "C.M.F PACKS" in his footlocker and he could not recall what it was.
It is a sealed cloth pack that is about 4 inches by 6 inches, olive in color with the lettering C.M.F PACKS on the front of it. It is only about ½ inch thick and it is unopened.
Do you have any idea what it could be? I do not want to open it if I can avoid it.
Thank you,
