Kurt - Dragging this up from a deep memory, the only hydraulically
controlled systems were the brakes, cowl flaps and the windshield wipers.

Subject: [303rd-Talk] B17 question

Hello,

I have heard that the B-17 was an electrical controlled plane, not an
hydraulically controlled plane and that is part of the reason it could
sustain so much damage and continue to fly.

Are there any B-17 experts out there who can either confirm or deny this?

Thank you,
Kurt Timmerman
