[303rd-Talk] What Happened?

I agree Bill, we need more TALK here!
I was born 9 years after VE Day, so not much help there, but I do have a
question.
I know of certain duties that you had as a bombardier during missions, but
could you be a little more specific? With missions lasting 6-8-10 hours,
what did you guys do to pass the time when not in dangerous air? Was there
a lot of chatter on the interphone? Did the gunners stay at their positions
or did they congragate in teh radio room to play cards? I'm just curuous as
to how you guys passed the time when not in enemy territory> Were all
positions busy most of the flight with their respective duties or was there
even time to take it easy? You hear a lot about the combat, but not much
about the slow, tedious times during the flight.

Thanks Bill, and others,
Only the Best,
Guy Schlegel
