You all--What brought the experiences to life was the president's pardoning of the fellow who furnished the Israeli's with the B-17s.  With 40 plus missions in the 17s  they really wanted me.  I had their OK for  pay, an insurance policy,  and travel to Paris, then on to Israel .  That was from the Irgun.  The Haganah had already  offered me better terms.  I was one question away from going.  I was selected because of my name .  They took too much for granted.  A year later the USAF picked up my option and  I was back in the Air Force Blue.
