[303rd-Talk] reunion

Folks,

I had intended to be at this years final reunion, after having been allowed to participate in the conversations here.
Several factors stopped me, the primary one being work related. I am transferring from C-5 maintenance to the Newly arrived C-17 here at Dover AFB. Initially I was supposed to attend an avionics class at Charleston AFB around this time. My Class has been moved to Mc Guire AFB in New Jersey, which will allow me to be in the area over the weekends. Of Course it is wayyyyyy too late to get in on the festivities now, I do want to make a request.

Is there any chance that some of you vets would be able to meet my 10 year old son and I for a short handshake and photograph?
My son is intensely interested in WWII now and his knowledge of the B-17 in particular is incredible for someone his age.
The only WWII vet he has had any relationship with lived down the street Col. Harry Odren, now deceased.
Johnny hasn't got any clear memory of Col. Odren, we didn't take any photo's and Harry left us when Johnny was only 4. He remembers helping him lower the flag in his front yard and that the P-47 was "Harry's plane" before it was the P-47. My Grandfather, also a vet, left us long before he was born.
At 10 I think he will remember meeting you guys for the rest of his life, certainly if I manage to get some photos.
I can be in D.C. almost any time on Saturday and Sunday, and there is a bit of slack in the Schedule on both evenings if I could get some of you to meet and talk with us.
Selfish, yes I'd like to meet some of you myself, but some of my interests have rubbed off on the boy ( pretty much how I got infected) and I would like to cement this generation of my family with you.

If any of you feel that you can make time for me, I would appreciate it, feel free to contact me directly or thru the talk forum.
My flexibility being key, I can be in the D.C. area and able to respond to a short notice if needs be.

Thanks in advance

John M Joerg
