Hello,
My name is Jim Martin. I flew B-47Es at Mtn. Home Idaho (1960-65) with some of your guys. (XX Bomb Sq - 658th BS; 1st BS.; and the EB-47L in 4364tth PAX, airborne radio relay) and was a UPT pilot instructor until '68.
I am very interested to talk with anyone willing to spin me up on the B-17F/G. I have a partial AFM and a Navigators Manual (4-43).
Can anyone tell me about:
A-2 rafts?
Size of the recoil spring on the 50cal. cheek gun.
Flight engineer duties?
Something about the neighboring base at station 117, Kimbolton?
Anything and everything!
I spent the last third of my 43 year cockpit career crisscrossing the Atlantic in a DC-10.
In those calmer times, I've had the experience of sitting up over Europe - trying to imagine what it was like for you guys.
Respectfully,
Jim Martin
