Subject:	Question for Bombardiers Re: WWII Fusing Settings Info

To Whom It May Concern,

I am researching for publication 8th AF 1944 missions against the
Merseburg-Leuna synthetic fuel facility.I have obtainedthe "Combat
BombingFlight Record"for thevarious Bomb Group missions against
Merseburg. However, I can not decipher the information on fusing
settings. For example: the documents cite "Fusing: Nose 1/10 and
Tail 1/40"

Can anyone inform me what these settings mean andtheir significance
against certain kinds of targets? Will the setting vary against hard
structural industrial targets vs. soft target such as rail
marshalling yards? Your attention to this request is greatly
appreciated.

Sincerely,
Craig Stier
