Merry Christmas to a bunch of wonderful friends!!!
With the family scattered over several square miles I had time today 
to do a little thinking. Among my memoirs  is a stack of 86 V-mails I sent 
to my mother. I thought one excerpt might bring back a memory or 
two to some of you.
1943 --This is an excerpt from a v-mail letter I wrote to my mother in January of 1944 

January 1 -Think Outfits name change slowed down the mail. Mrs. Parkes gave me nice allbum for my pictures. 

Supposed to have turkey for dinner again today. Real dinner for Xmas - turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed spuds, 

string beans, hard candy, ice cream with fruit cocktail & cake. 3 times the turkey at Xmas than for Thanksgiving. 

Had 2 small pieces of turkey & a pork chop for Thanksgiving
