[303rd-Talk] Remember Pearl Harbor Tomorrow

Although I was born after the war, I know where my parents were when
Pearl Harbor was attacked. My dad was doing farm chores when a neighbor farm
boy came to tell them of the news. My dad was 19 and knew it was just a
matter of time before he and his older brother were called up as the draft
had already been going on for over a year. My mom was helping her mom cook
Sunday dinner when the news came over the radio. My grandmother started
crying knowing it would be war and she had lost a brother from mustard gas
during WW I and had suffered for 6 years afterwards until he died.
Unfortunately for the younger generations, they're taught about the
present and the future, i.e. Star Trek, Star Wars and the latest in
technology. A famous person once said something to the effect that those who
forget past history are bound to repeat it, and this could be our undoing.
I think what is taught in school about WW II is too simplistic, that
basically we and our allies won the war and that's that. We should teach the
kids what this world would be like had things turned out differently. The
different scenarios are mind boggling!
Thanks to all the vets who made sure there was only ONE outcome!
Only the Best!
