Great story, Gary.  Thanks for sharing.  I was a true, and still am, St. Louis Cardinal fan.  When in high school a friend and I took the train to St. Louis to see them play.  Enos Slaughter hit a home run to right field.  The ball passed through an opening in the fan protection screen.  Later I saw Slaughter play for the San Antonio Classification Center Team when he was in the service. I was being processed through the Center at the time.
