It is a fact that over 50% of the world's population
is under 50 years of age, and have no personal knowledge of WW2.
History is no longer taught in schools to any great extent
which adds to the lack of knowledge.
The idea of a thousand or more bombers attacking one
target city is difficult to comprehend in this day and age
of intercontinental single rockets.
Today's younger interested people could well read any
of the books on the subject of bombing still being issued
One such is "Tail End Charlies" by John Nichol & Tony Rennell, published by 
the Penguin Group in England,
USA, Canada, Australia, India New Zealand and
South Africa.
This books deals with RAF Bomber Command, and
the USAF bombing campaign.
