Shit, Bill, you should have told me you were coming this way. I was in
the front row at the McPherson Playhouse, getting drunk and rowdy....
well not really.... heheheh.... but I wish I would have been. I remember
hearing and seeing the ads for the concert, and wishing I had taken an
evening and gone over to see them.
You did go by my island, though. If I would have known you were so
close, I could have taken the ferry and the short drive to Victoria, and
bought you a mug at the Irish Pub. I can see the ferry terminal at
Swartz Bay, across the short strait from Salt Spring Is. I live on the
very south end, on Beaver Point, 125 Stevens Road. We have a little
five-acre farm, with 5 horses and 15 chickens. Small time farmer, big
time chores. It keeps my wife, Geri, and me very busy. We are always
busy doing something.
So next time you come this way, let me know. If you can swing a couple
of tickets for wife, and me that would be great. We both like the Nitty
Gritty Dirt Band. That way we could meet you on your turf, while we
could show you around on our turf. What do you do for them? I am
guessing sound or lights, right?
You have a great Christmas, my friend.

Gordy, I just now realized that I went right by your house Oct 22 and
the 23rd. Sort of.
I work with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and they played in Coquitlam at
the Red Robinson Theatre and then at the McPherson Playhouse in
Victoria.
We took the Tsawwassen ferry in and out of Swartz Bay. Looking at the
map I see it goes by Salt Spring Island. Is that where you live??
That is some beautiful country where you live Sir and the people are
terrific.
Merry Christmas and thanks for all of your hours of hard work and your
love and passion and patience
Bill Hoyt
