Firstly, may I extend to all members of this talk forum
our best wishes for a happy and peaceful Christmas,
and a good and healthy New Year.
With regard to overseas service in the armed forces
there were a great many, mainly in the army, who
served overseas for six years with no home leave. I refer
of course to H,M. Forces.Post-war, men returned to
broken marriages, children who did not know them,
and many complications.
Practically the first victim of any conflict is normal
humanity and usual regard for others.
